This full-time position is an active participant of the
Finance Team and performs duties related to the day-to-day
financial operations of the organization.
Responsibilities:
The Finance Assistant duties include accounts receivable,
invoicing, and creating and posting month end journal
entries. The position is also responsible for general
ledger reconciliations, multiple bank statement
reconciliations, sales and use tax reporting. Additionally,
this position maintains the fixed asset system, executes the
monthly check run for the Housing Choice Voucher Program,
assists with audit preparation, and participants in team
meetings.
Qualifications:
·
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting and/or five years
accounting experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts
Payable, Month End, and Reconciliation.
·
Must be assertive, self-disciplined, attentive to detail, and
able to work independently.
·
Requires good people and collaborative skills.
·
Must be an effective communicator, both written and oral.
·
Must be able to multi-task and adapt to multiple interruptions.
·
Basic computer knowledge required, and must be able to learn new
programs quickly.

Summary:
This full-time position is part of a team which provides
customer service to community members seeking government
subsidized rental assistance in Brown County through the Housing
Choice Voucher Program. It also enrolls clients into the Family
Self Sufficiency Program and provides counsel to them on their
self sufficiency goals .
Job Duties include:
·
Learning and applying local and national program rules,
regulations, policies and updates.
·
Collecting, interpreting, and calculating necessary data
for income, assets, deductions, household composition and
housing expenses and determining eligibility.
·
Delivering excellent customer service to meet client
needs and educate them, and area landlords, about the program.
·
Assisting clients by making appropriate referrals to
other ICS internal programs or to other external services that
might help meet their needs.
·
Calculating housing payments and processing any
over/under-payments.
·
Representing ICS in case appeals, fair hearings, and
community meetings.
·
Participating in team meetings
·
Assisting clients in developing Self-Sufficiency service plans &
following-up with them on goals.
·
Establishing rapport and building relationships with other area
service providers.
·
Planning and organizing FSS client events, workshops, overnight
retreats.
·
Works with escrow accounts and program grant applications
Qualifications:
o
Prefer two years at a university, community or technical college, with
coursework in business, diversity, or social services.
o
Prefer experience with low-income or otherwise disadvantaged groups of
people.
o
Knowledge of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rules, regulations and
programs a plus.
o
Bilingual Spanish and/or Hmong helpful
